Construction of "Belt and Road" in Zhengzhou Where Zhengzhou

On March 15, guests for Seminar on International Cooperation Projects Projects under the "Belt and Road" Initiative also conducted a field survey on the construction and development of Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (China base of Zhengzhou-Luxembourg "silk road in the air"), China Railway Express (Zhengzhou) and export-oriented industrial clusters.

When guests arrived at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, a newly arrived Cargolux Airlines International cargo airplane was busy unloading with the engine roaring on the apron. Wieger Ketellapper, Vice President of Cargolux Airlines International, said the cargo plane would unload 110 t cargos here, load another 120 t to Japan, and then fly from Japan to Chicago in the United States, where it would load another 50 t and return to Luxembourg.

Mr. Ketellapper had been a pilot and a captain and had flown the cargo plane. He said that CGO’s two runways could meet the need of Cargolux Airlines International cargo airplanes, especially under full load, and that CGO was building the third runway. From the perspective of a pilot, he said that CGO’s runways and operation were the most suitable for Cargolux Airlines International both professionally and commercially. He spoke highly of the efficiency of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, and specially stressed to the guests that "it only takes two hours for the cargo plane under full load to finish unloading”.

The visiting guests from home and abroad communicated with Mr. Catterapper from time to time and asked about the maximum cargo capacity of the cargo aircraft and the categories of imports and exports. Many foreign guests took photos and selfies on the spot. With great interest, they said that they were shocked after the visit and were very optimistic about the future of "Belt and Road".

As of the end of 2018, there were 151 well-known freight forwarding companies operating in Zhengzhou, including 116 international freight forwarders, according to the data. Among the goods collected and distributed in Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, there are 22 categories and over 7000 varieties of imports. Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport has become one of China's main air ports for South American and North American fruits, and one of the major distribution centers for domestic imported fruits by air. Fruits imported through Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport account for more than 60 percent of China's total imports.Strategic Planning of Zhengzhou International Air Cargo Hub has been approved by Henan Provincial Government and the Civil Aviation Administration of China on June 30, 2018. According to the plan, it is expected that by 2025, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport will form a global air freight network with Zhengzhou-Europe and Zhengzhou-America air freight express as the core and radiating the whole world, and the ground network will reach the whole country, so as to better integrate into the construction of "air silk road".

On the same day, the participants also visited Zhengzhou Inland Harbor and China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. They got to know that the China Railway Express (Zhengzhou) had built up busy logistics and trade channels between China and Europe, and between China and Asia out of nothing over the past five years. They also witnessed the spectacular goods collection site of the China Railway Express (Zhengzhou). China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. shared the broad opportunities and bright prospects brought by the "Belt and Road" initiative for the guests.
